Joined the Navy as an AVROC on 07 Oct 1970. Attended AOCS as AVROC II during the Summer of 1972, and completed AOCS and commissioned in August 1973. VT-1 (Saufley, T-34B), VT's 6 and 2 (Whiting, T-28B/C), HT-8 (Whiting, H-57), HT-18, (Whiting, H-1). While attending AOCS, I joined the AOC Choir for the base chapel then on to NATCC under the directorship of Will Kesling. Choir Tours included: Cleveland Browns/Pittsburgh Steelers NFL game, Cleveland Ohio; Miss Pensacola Beauty Pagent; Stevens College; Randolph Macon Women's University, Retired Officers Association Annual Meeting, Lynchburg, VA; Montecello; and Oral Roberts University.
Upon earning his "Wings of Gold", received orders to: HS-10 (Imperial Beach, SH-3A/G/H), HC-1, Det-4 (North Island, SH-3A/G), USS Oriskany, USS Coral Sea, TAD ASWWINGSPAC (North Island). Final flight orders as a Flight Instructor to VT-27 (Corpus Christi, T-28B/C).
Upon completion of obligated duty, resigned from active duty, joined the US Naval Reserves, transitioned to 1635 Designator (Naval Intelligence), New Orleans (Fleet Intelligence Center, Pacific), Dallas (Joint Intelligence Center, Pacific). Recalled to active duty for Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Naval Intelligence Center (Suitland, MD). Co-Authored the "Rivers of Fire" brief, presented to the Director, Naval Intelligence Officer, predicting for the first time that Saddam Hussein would blow up the oil wells in the Persian Gulf. XO Tour - Oklahoma (Joint Intelligence Center, Pacific), Promotion to Captain (O-6), IVTU (Jacksonville, Fl).
As a civilian, Sales and Marketing in Orthopedic Implants (Total Hips, Knees, and Trauma) Orthopedic/Surgical Video Systems as Global Product Manager and Regional Sales Manager. Retired to Houston, TX area. Married to Renne' Peterson Siewers, former Software Quality Assurance Engineer for the Operational Software for the Space Shuttle program and the Integrated Laboratories for everything the Astronauts took with them into space.
Cruised on a 42' sailboat with his wife for seven years before settling in Kemah, TX.
