We are sorry to report that our brother in song, Holly Chilton has passed away. Holly was a member of the choir in 1954 and then the Choir director from 1961-1964 after John Rusch. Here is his obituary:
Holly Howard Chilton, age 91, of Harrodsburg, KY, widower of Annunciata “Ann” (Williams) Chilton, died Saturday, March 22, 2025. Holly was born June 2, 1933 in Harrodsburg, KY, to the late Kellis Holly and Margaret (Dean) Chilton. Holly was a retired Lt. Commander in the US Navy, where he had served during the Vietnam War and had Directed the Naval Choir in Pensacola, FL. He was also a member of the Mercer Masonic Lodge, a former Vocational School Teacher, and had a love for cows and horses on his farm. He is survived by one daughter: Janet Kathleen [Aaron] Cox of Harrodsburg, KY; one son, H. Howard Chilton, Jr. of Harrodsburg, KY; grandchildren, Kasey Quinn, Traci Chilton, Kellis Poynter, Spencer Collado & Tanner Cox; four great grandchildren, Maidali Collado, Malachi, Kage, and Oakley Quinn. Funeral services 11 AM, Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, 345 E. Lexington St., Harrodsburg, KY with Micki McHugh officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg. Visitation will be 5 PM until 8 PM, Thursday, March 27th, Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers are Kellis Poynter, Aaron and Tanner Cox, Daniel Chilton, and Jonathan and Spencer Collado. Memorials are suggested to Heritage Hospice. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family on Holly’s Tribute Wall at www.ransdellfuneralchapel.com.
